Ephesians Series 

The apostle Paul wrote this great book of Ephesians in about A.D. 60-62. Although only 6 chapters long, the book is powerpacked with theology and practical application in a believer’s life. Chapters 1-3 is mainly about our position or union with Jesus Christ. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing from the Lord (1:3), which is then detailed in chs 1-3. For example, Christians have been predestined/elected by God for salvation from eternity past; Jesus Christ has redeemed us; the Holy Spirit has secured our salvation; we have been saved by grace through faith; and we have been brought into the body of Christ (the church) where people from all nations are under Jesus Christ as the head of the Church.

Chapters 4-6 then mainly details the practical outworking of this – e.g. that we are to imitate God in His character; we are to walk in love, walk in the light, and walk in wisdom in all our relationships to one another. And it is only by putting on the spiritual armour of God, that we are able to make progress in our obedience and walk with the Lord.
