A) THE SCRIPTURES – We believe in the Old and New Testament Scriptures as being the infallible, absolute, inerrant Word of God as originally given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. They are our final authority and sufficient in all matters of faith and conduct.
B) THE TRINITY – There is One True God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; sovereign, holy, and loving; Creator, Ruler, and Judge of the world.
C) THE PERSON OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST – The Lord Jesus Christ is True God and True Man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a perfect, sinless life; died a vicarious death; was physically raised from death by God he Father, and ascended to His right hand.
D) HIS WORK – The work of Jesus Christ in His life and death as Representative and also as Substitute, by propitiating God’s wrath. He atoned for sin whereby He secured righteousness, forgiveness, and eternal life for all who are united to Him by faith.
E) HIS SECOND COMING – We believe He is coming again, personally and visibly, in glory and power, to judge the world in righteousness and to consummate all things.
F) THE RESURRECTION – We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; one to eternal life and the other to eternal punishment.
G) THE HOLY SPIRIT – The deity and personality of the Holy Spirit and His essential work in conviction, regeneration, and sanctification.
H) SIN – By reason of the historic fall of Adam and Eve, all men are born into a condition of spiritual death, under divine wrath and punishment, and are totally depraved, being sinful by nature and act. No man can be saved unless he be born again, repent, and believe the Gospel is the work of the Holy Spirit.
I) SALVATION IS GOD’S WORK – That salvation is solely by the Grace of God the Father, accomplished by God the Son, and applied by God the Holy Spirit. It is appropriated by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and includes regeneration, justification by faith, adoption as sons, sanctification, and final glorification.
J) SATAN – The personality of Satan, his opposition to God and His purposes, and his corruption and enslavement of all men until they are born again by the power of God.
K) THE CHURCH – In the One Holy, Universal Church which is the Body of Christ and to which all true believers belong.
L) THE SACRAMENTS – The Scriptures ordain only two sacraments; 1) Believer’s Baptism by immersion 2) The Lord’s Supper, in which the bread and wine are but symbols of the Body and Blood of Christ.
These ordinances are the right and privilege of all believers.
We believe the truths contained in this Statement of Faith to be fundamental to the Christian Faith, and are the basis upon which we are glad to have fellowship with other churches. It is to be regarded, however, as only a subordinate standard to the Scripture itself in matters of Christian doctrine and practice. It is a condition of membership that every member subscribes to its teaching.
